AP Credits
General Information on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Placement Credit (IPC)
We wish we could generalize about the treatment of AP/IPC credits by health professions schools; but the reality is that often treatment is not consistent. AP/IPC credit awarded by Duke for biology, physics, calculus, chemistry and English has been accepted by most health professions schools; however, we cannot promise that all AP/IPC credit will be accepted as prerequisites by all schools. In addition, some health professions schools make the stipulation that they will accept AP credit for required courses only if additional work in the same department or academic area is taken in college. Thus it is worth addressing specific areas and we can give you the benefit of our experience with different requirements over the years. In addition, there are specific requirements for Pratt students.
For a general discussion of AP/IPC please refer to T-Reqs.
