Tips for Completing myHPA
| Start to think about your personal essay and list of evaluators early. If you are planning on matriculating in 2010, plan to complete and submit your Profile and Personal Essay sections by the posted deadline (January 7, 2009). Submission enables you to schedule an interview; you may request to have your myHPA re-opened to upload a revised personal essay prior to your interview and/or to make changes to your evaluator list.HPA Interview for 2010 Matriculants
As soon as you have submitted the 2 sections of your myHPA, Profile and Personal Essay, you should schedule an interview. Applicants that submit their completed myHPA by the posted deadline (January 7, 2009 for the 2010 cycle) are guaranteed an interview, but the interview needs to be scheduled as soon as you have access to the interview calendar. Interview appointments will fill quickly, so plan accordingly. |

| CancellationsOnce the interview has been scheduled, you may not change your reserved time without contacting the HPA office (prehealth@duke.edu; 919-684-2130). Scheduled interviews will only be rescheduled for compelling reasons and must be requested at least 3 days prior to the scheduled interview. If you fail to show for your scheduled interview, you will not be able to reschedule. Please plan well. The interview process is for us to collect sufficient information about you in order to prepare the Committee Letter of Evaluation. Exceptions to deadlines and cancellation policies can only be granted in unusual circumstances. | |
