| JANUARY | 13 | Spring semester classes begin |
| JANUARY | 15 | myHPA Deadline (Profile and essay due). This information must be submitted by today in order to schedule an interview for the HPA committee letter. When you submit these sections, a link opens enabling you to schedule an interview for the committee letter. If you wait to submit these sections beyond the January date, interview slots may be filled. This deadline is only for undergraduates and alumni planning to matriculate in 2011. |
| JANUARY through APRIL |
Complete interview with a health professions advisor. (The interview is required in order to have a Health Professions Advisor’s Committee Letter of Evaluation. Please see note under May 3.) Spend time with advising resources in the HPA and on the web to learn about specific health professions schools. Make arrangements for letters of evaluation from others. |

| APRIL | MCAT registration for August and September test dates | |
| APRIL-JUNE | For dental applicants: complete application to take the DAT (Dental Admission Test). Schedule and take the DAT. Dental schools state that applicants should take the DAT no later than June. | |
| APRIL-JUNE | For veterinary school applicants and applicants to other health professions that require GRE. Schedule and take the GRE general test. Check to see if any of the schools to which you are applying require the subject test. Subject tests are given in April, November, and December. | |
| APRIL | 21 | Spring semester classes end |
| MID APRIL | Dean Scheirer will conduct two identical sessions on how to complete the primary application. Check calendar on homepage for details. | |
| May | ~1 | AMCAS 2011 will be available on the AAMC web site (www.aamc.org). |
| May | ~1 | TMDSAS application (specific for medical and dental schools in Texas, except for Baylor College of Medicine) is available on line. |

| May 3 | Last date for an interview with a health professions advisor. This interview is required for you to have a letter of evaluation from a health professions advisor. Applicants may schedule an interview appointment when they submit their completed myHPA which is due on January 15 (profile and essay); however, if you are delinquent in submitting your myHPA, interview slots may be full. This is a firm deadine–no exceptions. | |
| MAY | Before leaving campus: Since applications are web-based and the application services and schools will communicate with you by e-mail, you must make arrangements to have access to the Internet and e-mail over the summer. | |
| MAY | After your spring grades have been posted, have transcripts sent to application services and any schools that are not members of those services. Be sure to have transcripts sent from any colleges where you have completed course work. | |
| MAY | If you are applying to any schools that do not participate in the application service, you will need to check their web sites for application information/instructions. | |
| JUNE | 1 | Projected as the earliest date for submission of AMCAS applications and probably other applications as well. An exception is TMDSAS which in the past could be submitted as early as May 1. |
| JUNE | 1 | Your letters of recommendation from faculty and other individuals are due in our office today (or earlier). Your committee letter of evaluation cannot be completed until all your letters of recommendation are received by us. This is a firm deadline. |
| JULY | 4 (or earlier) | HPA’s recommended target date to submit applications. If you take the July 2010 MCAT or later, do not wait for the scores before submitting the AMCAS application. |
| JULY-late summer | Complete and submit supplemental applications to AMCAS schools. Timely returns are important for early interviews and decisions. | |
| AUGUST | 30 | Fall semester classes begin |
| AUGUST-DECEMBER | Continue with supplemental applications as directed by schools; respond to interview invitations, etc. | |
